Site: https://shuffleboard.skillsafe.ai/ ## Which shuffleboard this is Two different games are called shuffleboard. This is TABLE shuffleboard — the bar game with a long hardwood plank and metal weights pushed by hand. It is NOT deck (court) shuffleboard, the game played on a long court with discs pushed by a cue at a triangular 10-8-7 diagram with a "10 OFF" zone, which is governed internationally by the International Shuffleboard Association and which is what every major dictionary and English Wikipedia mean by the bare word "shuffleboard". ## What it is A single-page, entirely client-side game. No account, no server, no model, no network calls of any kind after the page loads. Hand-written WebGL2, no libraries. ## The rules it implements Everything is quoted by rule number from the Official Table Shuffleboard Tournament Rules, 2024 Edition (1 February 2024), the numbered code published for the game of Knock-Off: - Plank 20 ft 8 in x 20 in x ~3 in (3.1.1); the 22 ft figure everyone quotes is the cradle (3.1.2) - 3-line 6 in from each end, 2-line 12 in, short foul-line 6 ft (3.1.1.2.1 / .2 / .3) - Puck 2.3125 in across, 0.75 in tall, widest 0.375 in from the top, 310-355 g assembled (3.3, 3.3.1) - Values 1, 2, 3, and 4 for a hanger (6.8.1); only one side scores a frame and it scores every weight beyond the opponent's best (6.8, 9.26) - The entire weight must be past a line to take the higher value (7.1.2) - A hanger is judged by a "rub" — a flat edge slid along the scoring edge (7.1.3) — and is over the END, not the side (9.17) - A call that cannot be made is a dead heat and neither weight scores (7.1.1.1) - The side that scores shoots first next frame and gives up the hammer (9.15) - No bust rule (6.10) ## The two things it is actually about 1. THE HANG TEST. A weight hangs while its centre of mass is over the plank, so the greatest possible overhang is exactly half its own diameter: 1.15625 in, 29.36875 mm. Exact, and independent of the weight's thickness, of any axisymmetric mass distribution, and of the board's tilt. 2. THE BOARD'S ROLL. Rule 3.1.1.1 requires the plank to carry climatic adjusters "for adjusting the concave or convex qualities of the plank" and specifies no amount, so the surface is modelled as a real height field with named parameters. The drift has a closed form: crown x offset x distance / (friction x half-width squared) — a slow board steers more. ## Files - / the game - /CREDITS.txt every rule quoted, every reconstructed number, every source disagreement - /LICENSE.txt MIT, for this implementation only - /js/shuffleboard.js the engine: pure, deterministic, DOM-free - /js/render.js the renderer: WebGL2, drawing only ## Not affiliated Not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Table Shuffleboard Association, The Shuffleboard Federation, the International Shuffleboard Association, the National Shuffleboard Association or any maker of shuffleboard tables.
